About Me
I grew up in Shelby, OH and was raised on a farm where I was always caring for animals. I now own two dogs - Benny, who is my pride and joy, and our newest addition little Isabella, who is precious. They are like my children. I have a grown son, Jason Smith and his fiance is Angie. He has given me three beautiful grandchildren. Felicia is 17 and lives in Grove City, OH. She loves my peppermint inhalers because they take away her headaches. Carter, who is 11, loves grandma's pancakes and scrambled eggs, and Karley, who is 9, wants to take over my business when I retire (which will be in about 10 years). They both live in Shelby, OH.
I have been married for 14 years to a man who still does not know what to expect out of me! His name is Michael Saunders.
I have been a licensed managing cosmetologist for 40 years. I received my education at Pioneer Joint Vocational School in Shelby, OH.
Other Professional Certifications include:
My business, Perfect Scents Aromatherapy, is dedicated to my aunt, Betty Hause. She was my best friend and second mom. She passed away April 17, 2011.
Aunt Betty knew that at times in my life I often felt lost, like something was missing. She knew how much I enjoyed performing massages and using my work to make people feel better. My clients often told me that my hands were magical and had to be the greatest gift God gave me. When my Aunt's health conditions worsened and she was sent to hospice, they began offering her aromatherapy. I became very interested in learning what aromatherapy was all about.
A wonderful lady named Grace Williams, who was the aromatherapist at the time, told me how I could become certified. The results of my aunt's aromatherapy sessions were wonderful and helped her tremendously. My Aunt truly believed that I was meant to help others through aromatherapy, and after discussing it with her and seeing how it improved her quality of life, I realized that aromatherapy was my true calling.
A year after Aunt Betty passed, I was able to afford the education and training I needed to become certified. George Cox of Bellville, OH was the man who certified me and gave me great tools to become very successful within the field of aromatherapy.
Never, ever give up on your dreams! Your purpose in life will find you, even if it takes some time. It took me 56 years to get to where I am today, but every part of my journey has been valuable and the lessons I learned along life's path led me to my golden opportunity. Thank you to my dear Aunt Betty for knowing me so well and believing in me when no one else did. I know everday you are with me still and I know I have made you proud.
